Separation of fluorite and barite

Separation of fluorite and quartz

Fatty acids are used to capture fluorspar, and water glass is used to suppress quartz. The amount of water glass should be controlled appropriately. A small amount will activate fluorite, but it will not inhibit quartz enough. Excessive amount will inhibit fluorite. Sometimes in order to enhance the inhibitory effect of water glass on quartz, certain polyvalent metal ions are added, which inhibit not only quartz but also calcite.

Separation of fluorite and sulfide ore

For fluorspar containing sulfide ores, xanthate collectors are generally used to float the sulfide ores, and then fatty acid collectors are added to float the fluorspar. A small amount of sulfide mineral inhibitors can also be added to the fluorite flotation operation. To suppress residual sulfide minerals to ensure the quality of fluorspar concentrate.
