Tin ore beneficiation process

[Process introduction]:Tin ore is denser than symbiotic minerals, so gravity separation is generally used for tin ore beneficiation technology. However, since there are various iron oxide minerals in the minerals, such as magnetite, hematite, etc., these minerals cannot be well separated from the tin ore by gravity separation or flotation. Therefore, they are also used. Magnetic separation or flotation operations, etc.

[Application areas]:Gravity separation is a traditional method for processing tungsten, tin, and gold ores, especially placer gold and placer tin ores. It is also commonly used in the processing of sand ores containing rare metals (niobium, tantalum, titanium, zirconium, etc.). Gravity separation is also used to separate weakly magnetic iron ore, manganese ore, and chromium ore.

Process introduction

Crushing and screening

The raw ore is crushed to 20mm, and then screened into two particle sizes: 20~4 and 4~0mm.

Preselection

The 20-4mm ore enters the heavy medium cyclone for pre-selection, and then is pre-selected by a jig after a rod mill. The jig tailings are screened with a 2mm vibrating screen to remove the +2mm as waste tailings, and the -2mm enters the shaker for separation.

Flotation

After the jig and shaker concentrates are ground separately, mixed flotation is carried out, and the mixed flotation tailings are separated by shakers to produce qualified tin concentrates.
The mixed flotation concentrate is then finely ground for lead and zinc separation and flotation, and lead, antimony and zinc concentrates are produced respectively.

Reselect

The slime enters the Φ300mm cyclone, and the overflow passes through the Φ125mm and Φ75mm hydrocyclone groups to remove fine mud. The sedimentation sand is concentrated, flotated and desulfurized before cassiterite flotation is performed.

Production instance

Xingaonai is a tin ore beneficiation plant that adopts a flotation-gravity beneficiation process. After crushing the raw ore to 200mm, it uses a stage of closed-circuit grinding to grind to 200 mesh, accounting for 60~65%. Flotation adopts a process of one roughing, two sweeping and one refining, and the copper and sulfur are separated and ground to 0.074mm, accounting for 95%. Through one roughing, two sweeping and one refining, copper concentrate and sulfur concentrate are also obtained. Then the mixed flotation method is used, and the tailings are gravity-separated after sulfide selection. The tailings are separated through the first and second stages of bed separation; a re-washing; mud separation to obtain tin coarse ore, and through sulfur removal, the tin concentrate is finally obtained.
